OnePlus has finally launched the much-awaited OnePlus TV in India. The announcement of OnePlus intentions to get into the Television market was made by the CEO of OnePlus – Pete Lau. This was in October 2018 and now after almost a year later, One Plus has finally launched OnePlus TV in India.

OnePlus was released on 26th September 2019. There are actually two models of the OnePlus TV – OnePlus TV 55 Q1 and OnePlus TV 55 Q1 Pro. It was launched alongside the yearly flagship’s phones – OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro.

  • Table Top Stand

OnePlus Q1 Pro comes with a table-top stand while OnePlus TV Q1 doesn't come with the table-top stand. If you want a table-top stand then you have to purchase it separately.

  • Resolution

OnePlus TV Q1 and OnePlus Q1 Pro features a QLED 55-inch panel with 4K resolution. Both models have 4K Ultra HD (3840×2160) resolution and Motion Rate of 480 Hertz.

  • Connectivity

Talking about connectivity, both TV sets have 4 HDMI ports and HDMI 2 supports ARC (Audio Return Channel). These ports can be used to connect set of box, blue-ray players and gaming consoles along with 3 USB ports to connect the hard drive and other USB devices.

  • Sound

The sound technology used in both smart TV’s is different. The OnePlus TV Q1 2 speakers and 2 sub-woofers while OnePlus TV Q1 Pro have 4 speakers, 2 tweeters and 2 sub-woofers. Apart from this both TV sets comes with 50 watts of output and have a powerful Dolby Atmos system.

  • Smart TV features

Both the TV sets have built-in WiFi, Bluetooth and Chromecast. The OnePlus TV runs on Oxygen OS TV along with Android TV OS supporting Google Assistance. The system comes with 3 GB RAM and 16 GB storage along with A53*4 CPU. They also have OnePlus PQ Engine Gamma Color Magic processor, OxygenPlay VOD selection, Screen casting, OnePlus Connect Mobile Sync and control, Bluetooth Stereo mode, a File browser for the local media player.

  • OnePlus Connect app

To operate the wide range of usability features of OnePlus TV you can use an android smartphone app called OnePlus connect app. You can use this app to enter passwords, search queries, voice control, navigate other options available on TV, etc.

  • Display

Both the TV’s have QLED display with 120% NTSC and support HDR10, HDR10+. The display supports Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) decoding.

  • Weight

OnePlus TV Q1 is lighter in weight as compared to OnePlus TV Q1 Pro. OnePlus TV Q1 weights 19.5 Kg and OnePlus TV Q1 pro weights 22.2 Kg.

  • Supported Audio Format

Both the TV support AMR, AAC, AC/E-AC3, DTS, MP3, WAV, FLAC, AC4 audio formats.

  • OnePlus TV Remote

The remote connects to the TV using Bluetooth, unlike traditional IR TV remotes. Notable features of the remote are the Amazon Prime Video hotkey, dedicated Google Assistant button and the volume rocker on the right side. It has a rechargeable battery like phones and comes with a USB-C port for charging.

  • Content

The TV comes with pre-installed streaming apps like YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, Sony Liv, Zee5, Google Music and Hungama. You can also download other apps from the Google Play Store. These TV sets do not have Netflix however, you will get the support to Netflix in the coming months.
