Top Writing Hacks You Must Know
A writer’s job is perhaps one of the toughest jobs in the world. If you are a writer, you surely know what we mean. But here’s something that can make your life easier and give the best output to your readers.
Mistakes That a Writer Makes
No matter what kind of a mistake the other job profiles make, they are forgiven since their mistakes can be mended. However, this is not the case with the profile of a writer. When a writer makes a mistake, there is no way in which it can be fixed. It is simple – can you go and collect all the books from the library and rectify the error? We doubt if this can be done!
Thus, as a writer, if someone tells you to “write my essay for me”, you can’t afford to make a mistake! Whether you are helping someone in their college assignment or writing a book, there are a lot of things that you have to pay attention to as a writer. Your job is to ensure that every single word is placed in such a way that the entire sentence receives a balanced attention. The readers have to understand your words and thus, you have to give it your best shot as a writer.
If you don’t want to make any errors or if you want to keep the mistakes as low as possible, there a few hacks that you have to learn.
The Simple Things:
Keep the sentences short and simple: Don’t dawdle on long sentences; even if you wish to play with words, keep the statements short and use a language that people can understand. Don’t use a complicated language; no one would want to sit with a dictionary in their hands: You are a master of a specific language and that’s good news, but the others may not understand the language as much as you do. Thus, keep the language of your book as simple as you can. Keep an eye on the punctuation that you use: The capital and small letters make a big mess if they are used inappropriately and incorrectly. Make sure to keep your eyes open when you are using punctuation.
You don’t have to use unnecessary expressions just because you are a writer: You are a writer and I completely respect that, but get rid of those unnecessary words and expressions. Keep a dictionary in your hands to find substitutes that you need to use of some words: If you know a word that’s too long or difficult, your readers may not match the train of your thoughts. Use a dictionary to find easier or simpler words. Use a grammar checker on your laptop or computer: Grammar checkers are available for free on the internet; use one of them to write in a grammar and error-free language. There’s nothing more that the readers want from your end.
The Advanced Things:
Put related music into your ears: If you are writing a romantic article, write it while listening to a few romantic songs. Music matters a lot when you are writing. It influences your thoughts. Don’t use a lot of adjectives: Adjectives are beautiful, but sometimes they are unnecessary. Let the readers use their imagination instead of yours. Avoid using filler-words: Filler words can be amazing when you are writing a novel, but not when you are writing an article. Don’t stretch one single thing for long just to increase the word count or pages of your book: Keep the content short, simple and easy to understand.
If you want to avoid making mistakes as a writer, make sure to:
- Check the entire article or book or content at least thrice
- Hire a good editor for yourself since he plays an important role in the completion of your book
- Read every single word as you write it
If you want people to have fun reading your books when you finish writing them, you have to remember all of the above-mentioned points. An error-free book or content is every reader’s dream and as a writer, you have the power to make their dreams come true.
