Reliance Jio Play App Brings the World of Television to Your Fingertips
We have all waited for 4G services since we came to know about the amazing speeds it can deliver. Beating home internet speeds and having a download rate of 100 Mbps is furiously fast to say the least. This new technology opens up several opportunities in the mobile application market. Fast speeds can ensure that we can stream HD videos on our phones, can make HD video and voice calls, and can play HD games and much more. As days go by, innovations are being made to utilize 4G services to its fullest capabilities and more applications are being created to justify 4G speeds.
Reliance Jio, the telecom arm of Reliance Industries is creating a digital experience based out on 4G services. They are preparing to roll out their much-anticipated network services which are expected to provide tough competition to incumbent operators.
In addition to providing high-speed internet services, the telecom company is keen on giving users a seamless digital experience by offering several products. These include Jio Television (android-based set-top box), Jio World (100 GB free storage) and Mi-Fi which is a Wi-Fi network facility.
The company will also introduce a host of applications that complement its efficient 4G services. Some of these include the instant messenger, music facilities, VoIP, video calling and a wallet facility. Users may access these services conveniently from their smart phones.
Preview of Jio services
Tamil Nadu is expected to be one of the first states to witness the massive 4G launch. The company offered a preview of its services at a popular techfest on the IIT-Bombay campus. Furthermore, its Wi-Fi services are also offered at select places like popular shopping complexes in Navi Mumbai.
Reliance Jio Play application
One of the most trending apps that customers are raving about is Reliance Jio Play. Its flawless user-interface and extensive library of television shows ranks it high in terms of popularity. The app enriches the entertainment experience for users even while on the go. It gives access to live TV channels on smart phone devices. The added advantage of the application is that it stores television content on its server of the last seven days. This is made possible with the ‘Catch-Up’ feature. The function provides users with the flexibility of viewing their favorite shows at their own convenience. Usability is enhanced with options like the rewind, resume, forward, pause and play buttons. Additionally, the app also helps users keep track of shows by letting them set reminders and notifications.
Range of television channels
This Jio application also packs an impressive number of 298 channels. It allows users to personalize their viewing experience by customizing the language settings, as well as genres according to their individual preferences. Another unique feature in the application lets users connect their smart phone to a Reliance set-top box. This enables them to control its functionality by even sharing the current channel from their device to the television.
Convenient installation and flawless interface
The application will only take up 22MB of storage in a device, thereby making it easy to install. The app is designed bearing in mind user-accessibility. The left-hand side of the application includes a list of channels that show-up once users filter them depending on their category preferences. The right-hand side updates users about the previous, upcoming and current shows. The viewing experience is further heightened with specific channels that contain the HD feature.
So far, Jio Play has witnessed a steady rise in the number of downloads with over 50,000 customers who have installed the app on their devices. With a Google play store rating of 4.7, it comes as no surprise that customers are choosing this application as their one-stop entertainment option. Reliance Jio has not launched the application commercially, and it is currently only available to company employees and on select offers to certain customers.
