All You Need To Know About Clat Exam 2016
Clat or Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is one of the most important entrance examinations for the twelve standard students to pursue their higher studies in the law. This is a National Level entrance test which is empowered by the 16 National Law Universities (NLUs) in India for the new admission of the five years integrated LL.B. and B.A. LL.B., B.Com LL.B. and BSc L.L.B programs.
All the aspirants who are interested to choose their career as a lawyer and also if you dreamt to become a lawyer then now is the time for you to grab the opportunity for making your dream come true. The Clat examination will be held on May 8, 2016 and the head of the organisation which is the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab is conducting the mass entrance test.
Eligibility Criteria For Appearing Clat Examination
The Clat Examination which will be held on 8Th May 2016 and will follow the following protocol for selection of aspirants for appearing the examination. This below are the eligible criteria required for any student or applicant to have before seating for the examination.
And the eligible criteria are-
- Age Limit– There is no limitation for age limits at any case and the candidates are all allowed to appear the examination.
- Educational Criteria– The candidates or applicant must have passed 10+2 or any equivalent examination with minimum 45% marks for the general categories and 40% for the SC/ST Category.
If the candidates is appearing for the 10+2 in April/May 2016 is also eligible for CLAT-2016 examination.
Eligibility Criteria For NRI- Non Resident India
Even if you are belonging to the foreign countries, you are welcomed for appearing in the entrance test and pursue their Law Degree in India. But the seat for NRI quota will be allotted in all the states in India except for the West Bengal Law Colleges of institutes. And the CLAT organisation was not responsible for your admission and the admission are totally based on the merit.
Age Limits and Educational qualification for appearing the examination are same as the above shown criteria. Once selected, all the succeeded aspirants are advised to contact directly to the University for the Admission.
CLAT 2016 Exam Pattern
The exam is completely based on the online medium question paper which the duration of exam will be for 2 hours. The exam will be conducted as per the syllabus is concerned focusing on subjects mainly like English, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Elementary Mathematics, Legal Aptitude and Reasoning.
In the exam question paper, you will find the following patterns and mark distribution. The Question paper will be of 5 sections according to the subjects and the total of 200 Multiple Choice Questions will be given.
And the mark distribution for each subject will be like- English 40marks, General Knowledge & Current Affairs 50marks, Elementary Mathematics 20 marks, Legal Aptitude 50 marks and Logical Reasoning 40 marks
For each right answer 1 mark will be awarded while for the wrong ¼ mark will be deducted you will be awarded 1 mark and ¼ mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. So choose your answer wisely for preventing deduction of marks in the examination.
How to Crack CLAT entrance examination
To be generous, there is no such shortcut to crack the examination but we can recommend some important books which will help you to crack the CLAT examination. CLAT has the huge syllabus and to go through all the chapter and topics it is sort of impossible.
So the recommended books are like- The Complete Success Package by Arihant, Legal Awareness and Legal Reasoning: For the CLAT and LL.B. Entrance Examination by A. P. Bhardwaj, The Pearson Guide to the CLAT by Pearson India and also CLAT Solved and Practice Papers by A. P. Bhardwaj
By following one of these books will surely help you through put the examination and the rest is your knowledge about the subjects that will help you grab more answers in the exam. And also try best to read the question paper once before you start answering. While the exam duration is very only 2 hours so do not spend more than 10 minutes to answer a single answer.
The examination will start on May 8, 2016 by 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM where all the aspirant must be present along with their admit card for the entry into the examination hall.
The CLAT Result will be hopefully Declared on May 23, 2016 and finally the selected candidates will be listed based on their merit and the Counselling Process will be announced on June 1, 2016-July 6, 2016 for the allotment of seat all over the country.
